Artist Statement: Inspired by living as a long time expatriate and now immigrant in America, I explore themes of memory, sense of place, and nostalgia. In my current body of work, I create oil paintings that capture a sense of poignancy found in nature. Through depicting everyday flora, I attempt to evoke bittersweet feelings of melancholy and the fleeting passage of time.
